Personal Safety - Lone Working
This is for all Brighter Futures for children staff as part of their induction. It introduces key policies and safety systems such as In-check. For staff with a low risk it is sufficient to raise awareness of risks and to seek advice if they do undertake any Lone Working.
For staff who are Lone Working regularly it is a valuable ‘pre-course’ learning opportunity. They will also need to complete the short e-learning module with reliance if they will be using one of the lone working fobs.
If you are lone working in families homes we would also suggest the 'Hostile and Evasive' families course so that you have opportunity to learn the skills required to recognise signs of concern and de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.
If you regularly work alone or in potentially high risk situations then please see the resources section for this module. Here you will find details of other courses that may be more suitable for your needs, including additional courses in the lone working tier programme.
