Sundari Anitha is Professor of Gender, Violence and Work at University of Lincoln. She has researched and published widely on violence against women and girls and on gender and race in employment relations. Aisha K. Gill is Professor of Criminology at University of Roehampton. She has researched and published on violence against black, minority ethnic and refugee women in the UK, Georgia, Iraqi Kurdistan, India, Pakistan and Yemen. Both Anitha and Aisha have been involved in addressing the problem of violence against women and children, including domestic violence, ‘honour’ crimes, femicide, forced marriage and transnational marriage abandonment at the grassroots level for over two decades. In this webinar, Anitha and Aisha will present the findings of their recent research on prevention and protection responses to forced marriage, including Forced Marriage Protection Orders, and on the implications for practitioners seeking to support victims/ survivors.
