This course will enable workers who work with families to develop effective ways and build confidence in working with difficult behaviour, in order to recognise potential impacts on professional dynamics and multi-agency child protection work when professionals are faced with working with families who are hostile and evasive. It is recommeded for all BFfC staff who work in families homes alone as part of our Lone Worker training pathway

This course explores experiences, theories and ideas during day one and day two involves the use of actors to simulate potential experiences that professionals may encounter. This includes aggression and hostility and delegates should consider this before booking on the course. Delegates will be well supported during and after any simulated incidents but for some, they may prefer not to attend.
