This course will explore the key elements in terms of knowledge and skills required for the role of the social worker. It will equip workers to examine their practice systemically and examine the key tools and knowledge required in order to practice confidently.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
• Understand the role of systemic theory within everyday practice;
• Examine attachment and child development theory and how to use this effectively in practice;
• Understand the thresholds and criteria in analysing risk and have a core knowledge of child protection procedures;
• Understand and apply analysis, risk and protective factors;
• Explore current tools in assessment in different safeguarding areas.
• Understood the core theories in the different areas and be able to apply them to practice.
