In recent years, but particularly during the pandemic there
has been increasing recognition of the need to develop a
practice environment and strategies that can support the
well being of staff. Indeed, such an environment has been
crucial to delivering high quality humane and effective
services. Mindfulness is an approach that has become
increasingly popular, and is used in a wide range of ways in
child welfare organisations. But how evidence based is such
an approach? There is a now emerging research that has attempted
to address this question. The webinar will provide
both an overview of this research and some of the key concepts
associated with mindfulness. As such it will provide
an opportunity for practitioners to reflect on the usefulness
of such ideas and their associated techniques.
