The Trainer, James Blewett has worked within the social care field for over 40 years in a career that has combined practice, research, management, policy development and training. He remains a registered social worker and is vice chair of BASW’s children and families group.

He is also an independent reviewer for safeguarding practice reviews. He is currently undertaking research into the socio-economic context of safeguarding practice reviews.

James has worked with Making Research Count for 25 years and for much of that time was national chair of the project. He continues to contribute to the design and delivery of the programme on a wide range of topics across adults’ and children’s services.
