MRC_Navigating a Period of Reform in Children’s Services: Messages from Research

Description

We are currently in the midst of a period of major reform in children services. Changes brought in by the Childrens Wellbeing and Schools Bill and the Criminal and Policing bill alongside the DfE’s “family first” guidance will have a significant impact on the way that children’s services are organised. These changes include the creation of family help services, multi agency child protection teams, greater use of family decision making processes, the regionalisation of fostering services and changes around kinship care.

Alongside this the Government are creating a new child protection authority and a duty to report. This webinar explores the implications of these changes for families and the workforce. It will reflection the debates taking place around these changes and consider the evidence base for such a process of reform.
