It’s aimed at all social workers, assistant team managers, team managers, IROs, family placement workers and any other social care staff who might be working with a family in the PLO process.

- Using the PLO process pre-birth
- How to write a good PLO letter and
- Writing the PLO plan
- Delivering the PLO letter and preparing for the PLO meeting
- How to have an effective PLO meeting
- What the LA does in the PLO process and
- What assessments are completed in the PLO process
- What the parents’ solicitors do in the PLO process
- Ending the PLO process
The learning objective is that workers have a better understanding of how to make the best use from the PLO process to move cases on proactively either towards parents making positive changes or to issuing care proceedings where necessary to safeguard children
