Domestic Abuse: Awareness Level 1
Description
This course is hosted by RBC and run by a partnership of organisations that work to raise awareness of domestic abuse and improve outcomes for those who are affected.
Target Group
Multi-agency training for staff/volunteers across Reading in local authority, health services, education, police, probation, drug & alcohol services and voluntary and independent sector.
Course Aim
To provide delegates with awareness of domestic abuse, to develop skills and knowledge to apply in practice
Course Outcomes
- Definitions and prevalence of domestic abuse
- Stages of coercive control
- How might someone present who is experiencing abuse
- Domestic abuse during the pandemic, challenges and safely asking the question
- Overview of DASH (domestic abuse, stalking and harassment) and MARAC (multi agency risk assessment conference)
